Urotsukidōji: Legend of the Overfiend (1989)

I'll admit in the worlds of manga and anime I am a babe in the woods and have no basis to compare anything nor can I recomend anything.  I just don't have a base line nor do I have a grounding compass point to anchor me down.  So for this review I kinda have no idea what I'm talking about.  So with that in mind I watched this anime video not knowing what to expect.  The film is based on the manga erotic horror series of the same name.  LotO is the first anime film directed by Hideki Takayama who has gone on to directs several more after.  The film features some well known Japanese voice over artists including Tsutomu Kashiwakura, Tomohiro Nishimura, and Kenyu Horiuchi.  Trust me they are huge in Japan.

So let me tell you a little about this one: Every 3,000 years the human world is united with the demon world and the man-beast world by the revival of the Super God Chōjin, known as the Overfiend in the English version.  Jyaku Amano is a man-beast and his quest is to find the Chōjin and to ensure the safe future of all three worlds. However, he finds his beliefs put to the test when he encounters numerous demons, who plan to destroy the Chōjin and prevent the three worlds from joining.  It's way complicated and while I'm not really sure what went on but believe me it was a lot!

This anime film is historic as it contains the first tentacle rape scene in film history.  Seriously what is up with these Japanese people?   The Erotic Anime Movie Guide calls this a formative work in the hentai genre.  That's cartoon porn for us people less in the know.  Again, we have more cum.  This is a bad trend right now.  No, really, there's a scene where one guy licks some other guys cum off of a girls face.  Then there's another scene where this jock character beats up the class nerd and then licks blood off of the nerds face.  Turns out they are all important to the story so who am I to judge.  So yeah while I didn't know what was really going on all of the time it held my attention.  I'll give this two and a half parallel worlds out of five.
