4/10 - Tribunal 4/13 - Trial by Fire

4/10 - Tribunal

When last we met, Munroe was being held by a racist group known as the Wesenrein and was about to face a court charged with not keeping the Wesen bloodlines pure.  During the Tribunal, Munroe is also charged with befriending a Grimm.  Meanwhile at The Spice Shop Rosalee and Juliette discuss if it's possible for a person to become a Hexenbiest as opposed to being born one.  Rosalee says she believes it is possible and it is rumored that those that become one are stronger than those born that way.  While they discuss this they are also going over the list of guests at Munroe and Rosalee's wedding as they are sure someone who was there is a part of the kidnapping.  They decide to call Bud, the repairman to ask who some of the Wesen were at the wedding that they didn't know.  Bud, however is at the police station, he was called there by Hank so he can woge in front of Wu so that Wu can see if he is able to handle seeing it happen.  Back at the Tribunal, Munroe is "purified" by having blood splattered on him.  Munroe is able to run away but after ripping the throat out of one of the Wesenrein he is recaptured and now murder will be added to his list of charges.  The case continues to be presented by the "prosecutor".

At the precinct after seeing his first woge Wu is asked to talk to Acker.  He does so in one of the interrogation rooms.  Wu tells Acker he knows he is part of the Wesenrein and that he helped kidnap Munroe.  The pressure gets to Acker and he woges in front of Wu who handles it fine and punches Acker in the face.  Nick and Hank then question Acker who is surprised to see Nick is a Grimm again.  They get nowhere with him.  While all of this is going on Budd has gone to The Spice Shop and is conferring with Juliette and Rosalee about who was at the wedding and who might be in on the kidnapping.  Budd points out a woman named Suzanne, a real estate agent, as someone he doesn't know well and may be in on it.  Rosalee and Juliette go to her office to talk to her while Bud goes to talk to John, the man who brought her to the wedding.  Before he can get there he is attacked while in his truck.  Nick takes Acker from a cell to a room equipped with a two way mirror that looks into another interrogation room.  In the interrogation room he sees Rosalee questioning his sister Stephani who is the real estate agent.  Nick tells Acker that whatever happens to Munroe will happen to his sister if he doesn't talk.  Finally, Acker cracks and tells them that Munroe is being held at Oxbow Park.

Back at the tribunal the prosecutor says he has a witness that can testify to Munroe and Rosalee being married.  A hooded and bound person in brought forth and the hood is removed to reveal Budd.  After more testimony and Munroe offering his defense he is of course found guilty.  According to Wesen law he will now be put to death.  Munroe has a hood put on his head as he tells them he will see them in hell.  Riken, the leader of the Wesenrein, tells Munroe he will be impaled and burned at the stake.  If he tries to run he will be shot but not killed as one way or another he will taste the flame.  He orders Budd's throat to be cut as well.  Before anything else can happen Nick and the Scooby gang show up and stop the proceedings.  Riken is surprised to see that Nick is a Grimm and woges.  Riken tells the Wesenrein to attack which they do.  Some are shot but a large amount of them surrender.  Wu is able to kill one of the Wesen who runs.  Renard grabs another one and kills him.  Juliette and one of the Wesenrein fight on the ground with him trapping her which causes her to woge and using her power of telekinesis, she causes his head to explode.  Nick frees Budd and is attacked by the prosecutor.  Nick is able to overpower him easily and removes his mask.  Budd is surprised to see it his chiropractor.  Munroe catches Riken in the forest and the two fight with Riken getting the upper hand until Rosalee gets there as well.  The two of them then proceed to tear out Riken's throat.

The next day Rosalee and Munroe are able to finally go on their honeymoon with Nick and Hank personally escorting them to the airport.  Wu, still interested in everything Grimm is at the trailer reading through the Grimm Diaries.  Juliette goes to Renard's to show him that she is now a Hexenbiest.  This episodes quote is "May the God of Vengeance now yield me His place to punish the wicked.", which is quote from The Count of Monte Cristo.  The work by Dumas shows that sometimes in the pursuit of justice, those doing the seeking of justice may sometimes become unjust themselves which is shown to be true by the Wesenrein.

      4/13 - Trial by Fire

An unknown man goes into a store and opens the electrical breaker box.  After removing all of his clothes except for his underwear his hand ignites.  Waving his hand in front of the breaker box he turns off all the power to the store.  The man then woges into what looks like a fire demon and begins setting the entire store on fire.  Two store employees are kissing when the female smells smoke.  They realize the store is on fire and the male decides to break a window to get out which causes a back-draft killing them both.  Nick, Hank, and Wu are investigating the fire and the deaths.  They discover the owners recently filed for bankruptcy and the store had a five million dollar insurance policy.  They talk to the owners lawyer who doesn't think the owners would start the fire due to the fact the store had been in the family for years.  Nick tells the lawyer they will be investigating the fire and the deaths of the workers inside.  The lawyer seems very surprised to hear there were people inside the store.

Wu tells Nick and Hank one of the arson officers said he had a case like this once a few years back.  He tells them he doesn't remember much about it but his former partner might have some info.  That partner is a former officer who Nick and Hank arrested years ago for murder.  The two of them go to the prison to question him.  Orson (Daniel Roebuck who played Arzt on LOST) tells them he was really close to catching the arsonist before but all that ended when he was arrested.  Nick and Hank get Orson released from prison temporarily (like 48 Hrs. with Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy) so he can help them identify the man who is responsible.  Orson says he is not sure what type of Wesen he is but he is able to turn his entire body into fire.  At the trailer Wu reads about an Excandesco which seems to match what they are looking for.  The lawyer meets with the man we saw start the fire and tells him the police are on to him.  He sets the car on fire with the lawyer inside.

Wu shows Orson a picture of an Excandesco and he says that is what he saw.  Orson tells them he has a way to capture it but he will need supplies.  The four of them go off to The Spice Shop.  At the shop Orson asks Rosalee for an ointment that can withstand high temperatures.  Meanwhile the suspect calls the son of the store owner and tells him that he screwed up because there were people in the building.  The son tells the suspect it's not his problem and hangs up.  Now what's the odds that that was a bad move?  Wu brings Nick a folder of some of the dead lawyers clients and discovers that years ago when he was a public defender he defended an arson case.  The suspect in that case was name Damien Barso.  Orson sees a picture of Barso and says that is the same guy he was looking for.  Back at the destroyed car Orson sees Barso walking around.  Later, posing as a police officer, Barso calls the owner of the store and asks him to meet him at the store as there are some things he needs to ask the owner about. The owner tells his son and his son says he will meet him at the store.

Nick, Hank, and Orson go to the owners home and speaks to the son who tells them he is going to meet his dad at the store.  They realize the name Barso gave is a bogus name as nobody with that name works in arson.  They all rush to the store as Nick calls Munroe and tells him to bring the ointment to the store.  At the store Barso tells the owner that it was his son who hired him.  Munroe arrives with the ointment and Rosalee says the way to apply the ointment is with Super Soakers.  The group is able to save the owner and lure Barso out of the the burnt structure.  As soon as he is outside they begin to douse him in ointment.  Barso attempts to woge but doing so causes the pressure of the fire to build up until he explodes.  Afterwards, Orson is taken back to jail and Nick adds a Super Soaker to the trailers cache of weapons.

Juliette is at home and Adalind arrives and demands Juliette go with her.  Juliette refuses and as the two argue, Adalind woges and attacks Juliette.  Juliette in turn also woges and fights back.  Eventually Juliette is able to get the upper hand causing Adalind to retreat back to her car and leave.  Soon after Nick arrives home and enters his house with his gun drawn.  He finds Juliette and asks her what happened.  She tells him Adalind came over and that she almost killed Adalind.  Nick asks Juliette if she shot Adalind to which Juliette tells Nick she has to show him something.  She tells him she loves him before she woges into a Hexenbiest, seriously surprising Nick.  The quote for this episode is: "And glory like the phoenix midst her fires, exhales her odours, blazes, and expires.", which is taken from a poem, English Bards and Scotch Reviewers written by Lord Byron.  The quote referencing the fire Wesen Damien Barso in this episode.
