A Good Cast Is Worth Repeating (part 2)

Sasha Roiz plays police captain Sean Renard who is half human and half Wesen.  His mother is a Hexenbiest and his father is a human.  In fact, his father is the King of Austria.  That doesn't make him half Hexenbiest though but rather half Zauberbiest which is a warlock or male witch.  Renard's loyalty wavers throughout the series and is at odds with Nick almost as much as he works with the Grimm.  Renard feels that the Wesen community should be more in control of society than humans are.  Roiz has appeared in several films including 16 Blocks, Extracted, and Pompeii.  He also supplied the voice to Hal Jordan/Green Lantern in the animated movie Superman: Red Sun.  Since the ending of Grimm he has appeared in television series Suits and Chicago Med.

Reggie Lee plays police sergeant Drew Wu.  Wu often works with Nick and Hank on criminal cases and also serves as some of the comic relief in the show.  As the Wesen cases mount up and Wu continues to see things that cannot easily be explained, Nick eventually informs him about the Grimm world.  In the beginning of the series Wu is a regular human however he is later infected with Lycanthropia, similar to being a werewolf only in the Wesen world.  This causes him to be a genetically mutated form of a Blutbad however he looks very different in his Wesen state than normal Blutbad (like Munroe) do.  Before Grimm, Lee was in Frankenfish, Tropic Thunder, and Drag Me To Hell.  Since Grimm ended Lee has had small parts in several television series and has starred in the 2019 film Disappearance

Bree Turner stars as Rosalee Calvert.  After her brother, who is the original owner of The Spice Shop, is killed, she comes to Portland to wrap up his affairs.  Instead of selling it she decides to run it.  She is a reformed drug addict who's past has come back to haunt her a time or two.  She begins a relationship with Munroe and the two eventually get married.  Rosalee is a fox like Wesen called a Fuchsbau.  Munroe's parents have issues with the two of them being together, a sentiment that is shared among several in the Wesen communities.  She is a very knowledgeable apothecary and if a spell or charm is needed she can whip it up in The Spice Shop in no time.  She helps Nick, Hank, and Munroe on supernatural cases whenever and however she can.  Before Grimm Turner appeared in films Backyard Dogs, Just My Luck, and Firehouse Dog.  Since the end of Grimm she has small roles in several TV shows and films.

The final regular cast member and character I want to talk about is Claire Coffee who portrays Adalind Schade who is a witch like Wesen called a Hexenbiest.  In the beginning of the series she works for Captain Renard.  Adalind looses her powers thanks to Nick and seeks revenge on him by attacking Juliette.  Adalind eventually sleeps with Renard as well as Renard's brother (at different times ya perv!) in order to have a royal baby.  She has Sean's baby, a daughter named Diane who has some interesting powers.  Later, Adalind, disguised magically as Juliette, has sex with Nick where she gets pregnant again.  This time she has a son and she names him Kelly after Nick's mother.  When Juliette transforms into Eve, Adalind moves in with Nick mostly for protection but the two eventually begin a relationship.  Coffee appeared in the soap opera General Hospital for over two years as Nadine Cromwell as well as the television show Franklin & Bash before appearing in Grimm.  After Grimm ended she featured in two films Buddymoon (which also co-stared Giuntoli) and The Competition.

I'll be back in a few days to discuss the Wesen in more detail.
