A Good Cast Is Worth Repeating

David Giuntoli plays Grimm and Detective Nick Burkhardt.  Before he was an actor he was a reality competition star on MTV's Road Rules: South Pacific in 2003.  In the same year he was also on MTV's Real World Road/Rules Challenge: The Gauntlet.  After a short acting career of doing an episode here and there mostly consisting of bit parts for eight years he was picked to star in Grimm.  Since the ending of Grimm he was in a few films and then went onto play Eddie Saville on another TV show I enjoyed called A Million Little Things which has also just ended it's five year run on ABC.  He has also supplied the voice of Batman/Bruce Wayne in two animated films Soul of the Dragon and The Doom That Came to Gotham.  During the filming of Grimm Giuntoli began to date fellow cast-mate Elizabeth (Bitsie)  Tulloch whom he married in 2017.

Russell Hornsby portrays Hank Griffin who is a normal human being and is Nick's partner in the Portland, Oregon police department.  Hank has a lot of questions as Nick begins to gain his Grimm abilities.  Eventually Nick tells Hank everything about him being a Grimm.  Finally able to come to grips and even getting to the point that he too could see some of the wesen that Nick talks about in their wesen state, Hank helps Nick solve many cases that dance a fine line between normal world and that of a Grimm.  Before Grimm, Hornsby was on the main cast of medical drama Gideon's Crossing which aired 2000-2001.  In 2007 he was in the family drama Lincoln Heights on ABC which ran for four seasons.  After Grimm ended he co-stared in Creed 2 with Sylvester Stallone and Fences with Denzel Washington.

Elizabeth (Bitsie) Tulloch plays Juliette Silverton and later on another character named Eve.  Juliette is a veterinarian in Portland, Oregon where she lives with her boyfriend and Grimm Nick Burkhardt.  When the show begins Juliette does not know about Nick's family heritage nor does she know the abilities he inherits.  Nick eventually tells her and even though Nick's aunt Marie tells him he should end things with her for Juliette's sake, Nick eventually asks her to marry him.  When Juliette is not being the victim of revenge plots designed against Nick, she helps him on some of his more difficult cases.  In later seasons she plays another character named Eve, where she would have an even bigger role in Nick's Grimm life.  Before Grimm Tulloch had small parts in movies and television shows.  It wasn't until Grimm came along that she found herself a long running role.  After Grimm ended she began playing Lois Lane on the CW in the Arrowverse of shows including The Flash, Supergirl, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow.  She continues to play the role of Lois Lane on the CW's Superman and Lois today.  She began dating co-star David Giuntoli in 2014, the two announced their engagement in 2016, and was married in 2017.  In 2019 she gave birth to the couples daughter.

Silas Weir Mitchell portrays Munroe.  It has been debated whether or not this is his first name or his last name as the name Eddie was mentioned but never substantiated as solid fact, in nearly all mentions he is just known by the one name like Prince or Madonna.  Munroe is one of the first wesen Nick meets and gets to know.  In the beginning Munroe knows more about what Nick is than Nick does and helps him work on wesen related cases.  Munroe is a Blutbad which is a sort of wolf like wesen.  Similar to a werewolf.  Mitchell began his career as most up and coming actors do by playing small rolls in TV shows with his better known parts being on Prison Break (as "Haywire") and My Name is Earl (as Donny Jones).  Since the ending of Grimm, Mitchell has returned to doing smaller parts.  In Grimm, Mitchell is often the comic relief in the show but is a skilled fighter when needed and intensely loyal.  Munroe would later meet Rosalie Calvert who is the owner and proprietor of The Spice Shop.  The Spice Shop carries many herbs and supplies needed for spells that are required throughout most of the shows run.  Munroe and Rosalie would date, live together, and later get married before the shows ending.

This is just half of the main cast, I'll return with the second half of this post in a few days.
