4/21 - Headache 4/22 - Cry Havoc

 4/21 - Headache

Ever since Captain Renard literally came back from the dead early in season four he has been having nightmares and visions about being shot.  He wakes up from the nightmares with his old wounds bleeding like they are fresh.  The visions coming during his waking hours where he sees blood stains on his clothing seeping through fresh wounds.  They become so frequent and severe that he goes to another Hexenbiest named Henrietta for help.  At the same time a new serial killer going by the name "Jack" is making rounds in Portland.  The killer is being compared to the infamous Jack the Ripper.  Meanwhile, Juliette has gone into full Hexenbiest mode and while at The Spice Shop she gets into a huge fight with Nick, Munroe, Hank, and Rosalee.  Juliette nearly forces Nick to kill Munroe with her telekinetic abilities.  She leaves and Nick calls Renard to warn him Juliette may be coming to see him as well.  Instead, someone else answers the phone.  "Jack" tells Nick that Renard can't come to the phone as they had a big night last night.  Hank and Nick head to Renard's house and call Wu to have him meet them there.

When they talk to Renard he tells them he has been asleep all night and that he didn't know Nick had tried to call him.  They ask him where he was before he came home and went to bed and he says he was at Henrietta's.  He says it was a waste of time however, as she has not been able to help him with his problem that he also tells them about.  After Hank and Nick leave, Renard has another episode this time he looks into the mirror and changes into "Jack" who says: "You've been a bad boy, Sean." then Renard gains control again.  He then falls to his knees in pain and passes out.  Nick goes to talk to Adalind (who has reversed rolls with Juliette and is now a "good" Hexenbiest) about Renard and she suspects that when Renard died "something" came back with him.  The only way to get rid of it is to reverse the process which means they need to kill Renard again.  At the precinct Nick and Hank uncover evidence that could mean Renard is responsible for the recent "Jack" slayings.  Renard, who is there now as well, thinks he would remember something like that but Nick and Hank disagree.  They don't think Sean is in control when "Jack" comes out.  Hank thinks it best they tale Sean's gun for now and send him home with Wu who will keep surveillance on Sean.

Unfortunately, Jack is easily able to trick Wu and knock him out that same night.  Jack takes Wu's car and goes in search of his next target.  Nick calls him on Wu's phone but Jack throws it out of the car window.  Jack parks and goes to talk to a woman he sees on the street.  Nick, Hank, and Wu are able to stop Jack and Renard regains control.  They tell Renard that Rosalee has come up with something that will help him remember what happened.  In reality they have a potion that will nearly kill him but they think that if Sean knows then Jack will know so they need to trick Renard as well.  Back at The Spice Shop they give Renard the potion and when he finally falls asleep Jack takes over.  He grabs Rosalee around the throat who woges and bites his hand.  Hank, Wu, and Nick pepper Sean with a heavy dose of rubber bullets.  They check his pulse and can detect none as grey smoke begins to billow out of Renard.  Rosalee gives him an injection to wake him back up.

While all of this is going on some people are keeping watch over Nick's house looking for Kelly and Adalind's baby Diana.  Juliette gives a man named Kenneth a tour of the house.  Kenneth is a member of the Verrat.  Juliette is now working for The Royal Family as well!  In a house across the street a man comments to Kenneth that he didn't think Juliette would be willing to go this far.  Kenneth says he doesn't think there are any limits to what she will do.  They notice a hooded figure outside the house but they are soon scared away.  Kenneth tells another man to go follow them as he doesn't think it was Kelly but they want to make sure.  The man does and as he gets close he sniffs and begins to woge but before he can finish his head is cut off by the figure who is revealed to be Trubel.  She checks the man's hand and sees the insignia of the Verrat.  Back at Nick and Juliette's the phone rings and it's Kelly, she talks to Juliette who tells her Nick isn't home but she will leave the front door open.  Kelly walks up to the front door and is ambushed by Kenneth and the Verrat.  While the fight rages on, Juliette hides in the bedroom.  After the fight she goes downstairs and finds a much older Diana sitting in the middle of the living room.  Kenneth tells Juliette that they got her; meaning Kelly.  They leave with Diana who asks them where her mother is.

Back at The Spice Shop Renard once again collapses but says it feel different this time.  He opens his shirt and his bullet wounds now heal all the way for the first time.  Trubel runs in and tells Nick that there are a lot of people at his house and he should get there ASAP.  Hank, Nick, and Trubel get to Nick's house and look around.  Trubel sees a box and brings it to Nick's attention.  He opens the box to find his mother's head.  He slumps against the wall before yelling "NO!" several times.  The opening quote reads: "Stronger than lover's love is lover's hate.  Incurable, in each, the wounds they make." which is from Euripides play MedeaMedea tells the story of a jealous wife who seeks revenge on her husband.  In Medea, the wife kills the husbands new wife and kids as opposed to his mother as is portrayed here.

4/22 - Cry Havoc

We pick up right where we left off after Nick discovers his mother's head in a box.  Kenneth gives the message for the Verrat agents to move in on Nick's house and to kill everyone inside.  They escape and Nick tells Trubel to take him to the body of the Verrat she killed.  Nick, Hank, and Trubel go to Bud's house which is where Adalind is hiding out (the Royals and the Verrat are looking for her too) and they get her up to speed on what has happened to Diana and his mom.  She tells him about Kenneth and his men and where they have been staying.  She says she can get them in.  Hank worries that the Verrat could target The Spice Shop so Nick sends Trubel to get them and bring them to Bud's house.  Elsewhere Juliette, Kenneth, and Diana see the King of The Royals.  He comments on how much Diana has grown and thanks Juliette for her help.  Kenneth is informed they still haven't found Nick and he tells them to keep looking.  He asks Juliette where he might be and she says he is looking for her.

Trubel gets a call from an unnamed woman but acts like she is talking to Nick and says she will see them soon.  After the phone call Trubel brings Munroe and Rosalee to Bud's.  Nick and Hank are at the precinct getting info on the Royals.  As Nick is gathering info about Kenneth he realizes his mother was set up.  Knowing Juliette was the only other person who could contact his mother he suspects it was her.  Kenneth is arrested outside his hotel room after Adalind set him up with the dead Verrat agents head in the hotel room.  Wu drives off with Kenneth as the King is contacted and asked if he wants them to go get Kenneth.  The King, Frederick, tells him to let the Grimm have him.  Wu takes Kenneth to an abandoned warehouse where Nick is waiting.  Kenneth taunts Nick telling him he had fun killing him mother and enjoyed time with Juliette.  After Nick kills Kenneth he tells Wu to put a trace on Juliette's phone.  Hank and Wu comment that they are going to need Trubel for this one.

At Bud's house Rosalee and Munroe tell Trubel how Juliette has been going downhill ever since becoming a Hexenbiest.  Nick and Hank show up and Nick tells them that Juliette is with The Royals.  Hank tells Adalind that Juliette helped The Royals get Diana.  (Way to bait that hook, Hank!)  Wu calls and gives Nick the address of where the phone was traced.  Nick takes Munroe, Trubel, and Hank to The Spice Shop and leaves Rosalee and Adalind at Bud's.  After getting supplies, Trubel asks Nick if they were to get Juliette what does he want them to do with her.  Nick gives the two word answer: "Kill her.".  At the compound Nick, Munroe, Wu, and Trubel make their way thru an army of Verrat.  Before Nick can get to them, Diana and Frederick escape in a helicopter.  Nick and company all go back to Bud's dejected.  They all go their separate ways with Adalind staying at Bud's.  On the helicopter Diana and the King are talking and she says for him to look at his reflection in the window which he does.  His face transforms into a skull as one of the helicopter pilots gets up.  He cuts the Kings seat belt and throws him out of the helicopter as Diana's eyes glow purple.  The pilot removes his helmet and reveals himself as Meisner who has not been seen since the Synchronicity episode.  He smiles at Diana and says "Down with the King.".  Renard and Hank take Kenneth's body and plant a scalpel in his pocket.  Kenneth will be used to blame the "Jack" murders on as the citizens are still asking the police for answers.

Nick finally arrives home to find Juliette waiting for him.  She tells Nick she didn't know the Royals would kill his mother.  As Nick pushes Juliette against the wall he chokes her and says his mother trusted her.  She tells him to kill her but he can't.  She remarks that she hopes he isn't still in love with her.  He tells her to get out.  She woges and tells him he should have killed her when he had the chance.  After whipping Nick pretty good she resets to Juliette.  Nick tells her he is done fighting and she says "I know.  I wish I was.  Goodbye Nick." and woges back into a Hexenbiest.  From behind her Trubel says; "Goodbye Juliette." and shoots her with a Doppelarmbrust which is a Grimm crossbow.  She gasps as Nick grabs her and lowers her to the ground.  Blood flows out of her mouth.  Juliette dies with Nick holding her.  Outside several cars pull up with FBI agent Chavez getting out.  The episode ends with her instructing the other agents to "Get her.".  This was the season four season ending cliff hanger.  This episodes quote is "O, from this time forth, my thoughts be bloody or be nothing worth.", which is from a soliloquy in Hamlet Act 4  which shows Hamlet's search for revenge which Nick looks for and gets in this episode.  The title is also a nod towards Shakespeare's Julius Caesar in which Mark Anthony tells Caesar's spirit his need for revenge.  "Cry 'Havoc!' and let slip the dogs of war."
